Michelle Malkin vs Meghan McCain

August 11th, 2009

Here’s the intro blurb to Miss McCain’s new article

The Daily Beast’s Meghan McCain on why the far-right pundit, who says McCain needs to shut up, won’t be getting her wish—and why telling moderates to get out of the party is bad for the GOP.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say, “get out of the party”, but Miss McCain, people like you are the reason conservatives are losing elections, people like your father, people like Arlen Spectre, who is now a reliable Democrat. You’ve said, “In my Republican Party there is room for everyone!” How is that logical at all? The Republican party is a group of people who have ideological similarities, and they’re not all cohesive…people disagree, but in my Republican party, the party I am about to leave because of people like you, there’s not room for Liberals. You’re the media darling because for every cry of “compromise”, there’s a reply of “no compromise” from the left. So we change, and they don’t. The reason the right is losing elections is because as long as people like you and your father represent the party, I won’t vote for them any more…and I’m 27. Disagree with Michelle Malkin all you want, and although I’m not in her camp 100% (maybe 98%), I’m certainly not in yours. So I’m going to take my Southern California coast residing, tattooed, guitar playing, video game junkie ass somewhere else if you’re the face of the “new Republican party”, because you’re just that…a face. I’m not an extreme conservative (unless it’s fiscal), and like you, I probably don’t really have any major complaints with the social moderates, though I disagree with them, but I do have complaints with people who convey understanding of policy that reads like Tigerbeat or in 140 characters and less.

You’ve become the “Limousine Conservative”, the parody of the elite left that Republicans like me can’t stomach. You’re one of the ones who talk about the awesome things that they do, say, and participate in, twitter about how cool you are, and how you’re recognized…you’re now the Paris Hilton of the Republican Party, and while you espouse moderation, those of us Conservative Republicans twist inside, knowing that while you are your own individual, and have the right to say whatever you want, your actions have a reflection on the “R”, like Miss. Hiltons do on the “H”….and I’m about to tap out.

You think there’s room for everyone? That’s not realistic, or informed, and it doesn’t help policy.

You are chasing me out of the party, and I know there’s going to be hands in the air like mine agreeing. I give credit to people like Bill Maher because at least he believes in something, even though I disagree with him…you, however, just seem to believe in the idea of believing…how…inclusive.

Bad Republican, McCain ,
