Silver Lining, Yeah Baby!

October 15th, 2008

Every cloud has a silver lining if you look close enough. IF the Obama/democrats win the presidential election a whole bunch of silver linings glitter and glow.

1) Obviously Americans are not racists after all. So the things “they” were wrong about list starts with the most outlandish intolerant BS being thoroughly and finally debunked as a self serving urban myth.

2) There will be no more excuses for minorities, “more cheese” for sure, but no more excuses. For those of you unaware of the meaning of the “more cheese” quote I suggest that you venture out of your idealogical left and right wing towers and know the actual peeps and how life works for the “more cheese” crowd. That is of course if you can be accepted and/or survive the trip.

Anymore suggested silver linings?

Double Standard

October 10th, 2008

Associations Mater.

Be honest with yourself.

If you replace key part in this sentence, tell me whether or not this would matter.

Barack Obama has close personal ties to Bill Ayers who still says he wishes he would done more than just bomb Government buildings 30 years ago.”

John McCaim has close personal ties to _______ who still says he wishes he would done more than just bomb Abortion Clinics 30 years ago.”

Why McCain Lost Tonight

October 7th, 2008

Don’t get me wrong, Obama didn’t necessarily win, but McCain certainly lost.

The conundrum that McCain has been facing is that the burden of proof if on him. It’s up to McCain to prove how he’ll do things differently, it’s up to him to articulate how he’s better for the job, and it’s up to him to let us know why Obama isn’t. The reality of the situation is Obama just needs to keep on doing what he’s been doing effectively, which is almost nothing. He needs to talk generically, he needs to create a class war, and he needs to offer platitudes and good vibes…and he’s done a great job of that. All Obama needs to do is not be Bush. I think Republicans were narrowminded when we thought that the general voting population would understand McCain does not equal Bush. Reality has shown us that Barack Obama is much better at delivering his marketing than McCain is. McCain has performed sub par. I think better than Obama, and that’s because (of course) he’s closer to me with regard to political philosophy, and I hold him to a higher standard. The truth of the matter is I hold Obama to no standard, because he’s never held himself to a standard…only to an ideal, which is “Change”…to his credit, he’s held on to that ideal very well.

McCain did nothing new. Stuck to quotes I’ve heard before, and basically repeated his performance of the first debate…as did Obama…but we all know that these debates have not been about Obama. All he needed to do was survive, and he did. McCain told us things we already knew, had little emotion, and didn’t attack on the things he needed to attack (Obama’s lack of leadership with anything, Fannie Freddie, Associations, etc).

My birthday is Friday…October surprise for my present maybe?

So far, this election has been a referendum about Bush. Obama has just been a better marketing machine, a better packager, and a better advertiser (granted 3 to 1 dollar wise)…I have low expectations for the elections, and accordingly, even lower for the next 4 years. All I can hope is that Republicans learn why they lost this election, if that happens to be the case.

Why You’re Racist

October 5th, 2008

Patterico sums it up succinctly…click through for links for support.

Did you know that it’s racist to argue that Barack Obama should not be President?

It’s true!

We know this, because we’re told that:

* It’s racist to point out the connection between Barack Obama and a white man — who happens to be a terrorist.

* It’s racist to point out the similarity between Barack Obama and two white women — who are famous for being celebrities.

* It’s racist to point out the connection between Barack Obama and a black man — who happens to have run Fannie Mae.

* It’s racist to point out the connection between Barack Obama and a black woman — who happens to be his wife, and who said she wasn’t really proud of America until her husband was nominated.

Sounds about right to me…

Remembering Huntington Beach

September 26th, 2008

Awww man, I wish I could be filled with hate and rage too…and blame all problems on the Republicans! (Side note: the Democrats have majority, they don’t even need Republicans to solve this economic crisis…but, the new “Do Nothing” congress doesn’t even have the balls to pass a bill they could easily pass, for fear of being responsible for the result…)

This video reminds me of the 4th of July parade in Huntington Beach. I’ve gone 3 of the last 4 years, and I don’t remember anyone jeering the Democrat float that went by (they had a band…they’re cool), but I do remember some jeers and booing when the Republican float went by. I’ve learned to be more quiet about my politics in public setting, especially around strangers…because the above reaction isn’t uncommon in the People’s Republican of California. My wife just commented it’s because even though we’re the fascists, we’re surprisingly more tolerant of other peoples view.
