The men the American public admire most extravagantly are the most daring liars; the men they detest most violently are those who try to tell them the truth.
- HL Mencken
Makes one wonder where these people fall on the spectrum of admiration…
Cigarettes do cause global warming…and terrorists do not want to kill you. There’s no reason to be scared of Islamic Extremists…that’s “fear mongering”, because our real concerns (other than ManBearPig) should be directed towards GLOBAL WARMING (*music crescendo*).

More specifically known as Reduction ad Hitlerium, coined by Leo Strauss. Don’t mean to get all college course preachy, but that’s what it’s there for right…my degree makes me right, like a microphone makes a talk show host right. I suppose the internet equivalant is Godwin’s Law, which we see often in the internet blog culture. Anywho, the source:
The Association Fallacy is a common hide-a-way of those who cannot argue…basically, “the qualities of one are inherently qualities of another, merely by association.” This is something they teach you in Marketing if you want to capture the masses (in between the classes on golfing…). Based on the assumption that people can’t think for themselves, you simplify it for them. Put a T-Shirt on the back of a Hollywood star, it sells merely by association. Put Arnold next to Bush, you can grab the attention of the liberals, pull that Bush hatred up, and make that association, and get votes. AVOID REAL ISSUES AT ALL COSTS.
Governors don’t put troops in Iraq, they don’t make federal policy that affects the price of oil, and they don’t declare war.
Now let me throw Godwin’s Law out there:
As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one.
Why is this relevant? It’s how conversation digresses to the lowest common element. You argue with a liberal, that’s what happens. It just devolves to basest most unfounded points, and it going to be fun to see how the left handles this election in California, especially when there’s a governor who has been making a point about working with both sides (much to my currently whiskey sipping chagrin) and bringing people together…but still not enough. If you can’t attack and win on the point, reference Hitler…or Bush, who the left sees as a moral equal.
So what happens here? Well, I shrug it off and laugh with my cronies about the futility of arguing points with Democrats, and leave it to the hands of fate…or the earth goddess…I don’t want to leave anyone out of this.
“Islam is the only religion acceptable to God…God recognizes no separation of church and state…he has no needs for legislators and parliaments.” (Source)
Of course. I know I’m a little behind the curve here, and I wasn’t going to post on it because everyone else has covered it so extensively…but I wonder how Moore fans can justify that a propoganda video explicity says by the narrator that he’s fighting American, in part, due to Michael Moore…and it’s not the first time.
“After all, there are honest and influential guys in America and if Mr. Moore can talk to you like that, so can I,” says the narration over the film. I guess that’s just a scam though…because that would make them more patriotic than someone who is for the war, someone like me…”because dissent is the greatest form of patriotism.” And of course, the greatest dissent is blowing civilians up…you must really dissent heavily if that’s your recourse.
Today, the Whitehouse releases “The National Strategy for Combating Terrorism,” a concise and insightful document, but those who are destined to be butt hurt over the “fear mongering” (people aren’t supposed to be afraid…that would be bad) or butt hurt over the “questioning of our patriotism“, still fail to address the root of the issue…people want us dead, and the government has the right, and the moral obligation to prevent it. It’s not a pipe dream, it’s not a conspiracy…and it’s been happening for years (read the report before you scoff, it’s all there…very little room for interpretation). And yet…in the spirit of politics, those on the left are willing to risk the lives of their countrymen to “kill the patriot act” or expose the faults of the Bush administration. As I said in an earlier article, they will vote against every issue supported by this President, simply because of who he is…what he represents to them, their blatant failure to achieve anything productive in the last 6 years.
Read his speech today…read it so you liberals don’t have the auto-hatred gene trigger the moment you hear his voice. Then address the points on his speech where you think he is factually wrong, totally devoid of ad hominem attacks. I dare you.
Here is what al Qaeda says they will do if they succeed in driving us out of Iraq: The terrorist Zawahiri has said that al Qaeda will proceed with “several incremental goals. The first stage: Expel the Americans from Iraq. The second stage: Establish an Islamic authority or amirate, then develop it and support it until it achieves the level of Caliphate… The third stage: Extend the jihad wave to the secular countries neighboring Iraq. And the fourth stage: …the clash with Israel.”
Bush spoke in front of the NAACP and acknowledged the “Racism Still Exists“. I hate to break it to you, but racism will always exist, always. It’s tragic that it does, but short of getting the thought police involved, you can’t stop it. There are people who aren’t educated enough to know better, there are people who refuse to know better, and even the ACLU, with clients such as NAMBLA and the KKK, makes sure that people are entitled to be racist. The Democratic party (and many on the right as well) tell us that people are equal, and then set up programs that in essence say that “this group of people is stupid, so they need extra help”.
I agree with Michelle Malkin that Bush should have at least made a point about the fact that the left slings such insults as “oreo”, “uncle tom”, and “house nigger” (Follow the links through Malkin’s web site to see specific examples), while at the same time calling him racist. By labeling someone a “race traitor” simply due to the fact they’re in another party, it allows you the ability to not have to argue any of the issues with them…the circular logic is at it’s simplest. You’re racist because you’re a Republican, and you’re a Republican because you’re racist. Sounds simplistic, but you look at the polls, and without any concrete evidence, people believe the administration is racist. Even the fact that Bush’s cabinet is the most diverse in history, the argument I hear to counter this is as listed above, they’re simply tokens…evidence? The evidence is that it’s a Republican administration, and minorities are in the cabinet, so they must be tokens. The logic is hard to grasp, it can be driven without any factual basis, and propagated proof free…
Thank you president Bush for protecting what the courts have seen fit to overlook. It’s an exeutive order we needed to see. After the shameful actions of the Supreme Court it’s good to see that our executive is willing to overlook the bureaucratic BS, and take the initiative. I’m waiting to see how the Democrats can spin this in their favor. “We want local governments to take your homes if there’s a chance they can generate more tax revenue.” There’s nothing more American that the right for a person to own private property, and to have that right regardless of what a lobbyist can achieve.
