I’ve Saved Jobs

June 2nd, 2009

Because of this blog, I’ve “saved” 1000 job in the public sector. Media, it’s now your responsibility to prove that I haven’t. Or…you can just trust that it’s true…

How To Destroy Obama’s Base

May 17th, 2009

It’s easy….make it a point to start the argument with how staunch of a conservative you are, then proceed to draw attention to everything that he’s done that George Bush did.

Iraq, Afghanistan, Wire Tapping, Military Tribunals, Trade, Public Funds to religious organizations, etc…

Granted, he’s only like 5% in agreement with our party…but nothing gets the Liberals to eat their own like saying, “I’m happy to see he agrees with Dick Cheney when…”.

The Historian hit’s the nail

1984 Redux. I feel like Winston Smith in Oceania, confused about all the doublethink coming out of Washington. Great Depression—no Great Depression. Recession for years; its end at the end of this year. Signing statements bad; signing statements good. Fundamentals hardly strong; fundamentals really sound. Earmarks terrible; 8,000 wonderful. Bush’s $500 billion deficit reckless; Obama’s $1.7 sober and judicious; Iraq horrific and the worst whatever; Iraq suddenly quiet, democratic, and hopeful; highest ethical bar in an administration ever—Richardson, Daschle, Killefer, Solis, etc. cannot meet the lowest; Guantanamo a Stalag; Guantanamo open for a year, pending the recommendations of a “task force”; Guantanamo a torture place for unlawful combatants; Guantanamo a nice place without unlawful combatants; Obama not to be blamed for massive collapse of stock prices since November; Obama to be praised for modest gains last week. At some point, someone in the media must be getting embarrassed that they are all working at the Ministry of Truth.

I’m in a very linky mood this week.

Did I Mention I Hate Double Standards?

February 8th, 2009

Probably…I don”t mind honesty, but we’re going to be seeing a lot of bowing down before the rhetoric of Obama…when they insulted Bush for the very same thing. But Obama is smarter see, didn’t you know he went to Harvard and wrote books! He wrote books! Take that Ike.

People are starting to complain:

“Every time we turn around, this guy is bad-mouthing the economy. Is that lifting our spirit or dumping on it in order to sell his tax cut?” liberal comentator Bill Press said on CNN. Newsweek’s Jonathan Alter, in an article headlined “Thanks Ever So Much, President Poor-Mouth,” said, “Even if Bush turns out to be right in his predictions of gloom, that doesn’t mean he was right to make them.” The New York Times lectured Mr. Bush, saying that presidents were supposed to be “cheerleaders for the nation’s economy.”

But Mr. Bush tried that, too. As the United States recovered from the economic devastation caused by the 9/11 attacks, the president constantly talked up the economy, asserting that the American work force could compete with any in the world, and he assured Americans that happy days were right around the corner. Even as the currrent recession took hold, he continued to portray the nation’s future in optimistic tones.

For all his effort, he was portrayed as a Pollyannish rube whose naivete so clouded his vision that he could not see the stark reality of the economic situation. How else to explain his optimism in the face of $4-a-gallon gas or exploding unemployment, or presidential statements a year ago, such as “I don’t think we’re headed to a recession, but no question we’re in a slowdown.”

The reality is the situation is bad…I know this, but don’t act like liberals did anything more than act like snotty teenage girls who had their phone privileges revoked by “Mr. Bush”.

The Coronation

January 18th, 2009

It’s getting banal to start off each new post with “it’s been a while since I posted”…but what the hell.

Ripped from a story at linked at HotAir:

‘I think those of us who voted for McCain are going to be a lot happier with Obama than the people who voted for him,’ Valerie Schlink, 46, a Republican from Valparaiso, Ind., said in an interview after participating in the poll. ‘A lot of the things he said he would do, like pulling out the troops in 16 months and giving tax cuts to those who make under $200,000, I think he now sees are going to be a lot tougher than he thought and that the proper thing to do is stay more towards the middle and ease our way into whatever has to be done.’”

I agree, to an extent. However, at the same time I believe that Barack Obama won’t be allowed to fail. The hype has so permeated the very core of the man, that the man has beecome nothing more than an idea. He’s still the same Tabula Rasa on which people can paint their hopes and dreams…but there’s little realistic expectation of anything other than good vibes. I don’t see any serious changes on the horizon. The “tax cuts” are losing steam, many of those involved with the war on terror will still be on the payroll, and we’re going to be in Iraq much longer than Obama “promised”. Things changed when the President Elect started receiving the daily Presidential Security briefing…and his supporters forgive him of course, because they know it was all rhetoric to begin with, most of it wasn’t “real”. I know of liberals who are vehemently anti-religion, yet pro-Obama, and reconcile it with a wave of the hand and a, “We know he doesn’t believe it, it’s just something he has to say to get the stupid people to like him.”

Tom Delay recently said, as reported by Politico:

If Obama were “serious” about changing Washington, DeLay said, “He would announce to the world: ‘We are in crisis, we are at war, people are losing jobs; we are not going to have this party. Instead, I’m going to get sworn in at the White House. I’m going to have a nice little chicken dinner, and we’ll save the $125 million.’”

Remember, or course, that Democrats bemoaned the spectacle of a $50 inauguration during a recession as excessive and decadent. I suppose that was because it was a presidential inauguration, and not the crowning of a messiah. I’m bothered by the inconsistency, not the expenditure. I say we just be done with it, lead Obama in on a donkey, and wait for the stigmata to appear on his hopey changey hands…

From ExistingThing:

Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters.

Go Figure

November 13th, 2008

So, now Ayers is saying they were family friends...the stages of Democratic denial are complete.

1) Too horrible and shocking; it can’t possibly be true
2) It’s not true
3) You can’t prove it’s true
4) Why are you trying to prove it’s true
5) It’s disgusting that you’ve proved it’s true
6) What’s the big deal anyway?

No biggie…he’s just going to get a tremendous boost to his book sales, make a butt load of money off of bitter college students who buy Chomsky just to put him on their book shelves…

Dictator Watch Pt 1

November 9th, 2008

Obviously tongue in cheek (I have to state that otherwise some commentators here get in a tizzy, malign your motives, and call you names)…

National Holiday for a guy that isn’t even president yet
?

Mark my words…keep an eye on the 22nd amendment.

As long as people stick on this Hope Change thing, he’ll be able to do anything…

Sidenote: When you see images of your “great leader” in the street, and they’re painted instead of pictures…that’s a sure sign we’re in for some hurt.

The Most Important Election Ever (Until the Next One)

November 4th, 2008

You know, I just want it to be over. I almost want Obama to win just barely, so the Liberals can put the last 8 years of their life behind them and mature past the 3rd grade school yard name calling.

…oh that, and Obama is going to pay my mortage.
