One Prediction at least…for now.
When Obama wins (sigh), he’s going to have to deal with an aggressively hostile press. Yes, I do believe that the press is going to turn. MSM is going to have to actively try to get their credibility back after their obvious and transparent support of, promoting and pandering to “The One”, and this means slowly leaking all the negative stories that they’ve been sitting on (LA Time Rashidi, Vera Baker, etc)…to them, being fair means going after someone.
Good news is, it’s not going to work as far as ratings are concerned. Mainstream Media has already burned the bridges with conservatives…they put their politics ahead of reporting the truth, and conservatives have long memories…
Not surprisingly, Fox News is going to be the most fair network when it comes to Obama, because THEY ALWAYS HAVE BEEN. I used to be an apologist saying “Well, Fox does have a conservative bias, but…” The fact is, as a ravenous consumer of media, they really are the most balanced network. I’ve watch all the other Alphabet networks, and they’re no where near as fair. People who watch Fox know how it goes. Bill O’Reilly tough on a conservative, all the time. Olbermann, Lauer, Couric tough on Liberal? Olbermann, never…the rest…rarely.
Get ready for the media lock down.
It was Obama’s debate to lose, the fix was in and yet he managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The democrat equivalencing and spin began in earnest last night. Funny how affirmative action works. Making something so white and black into a muddy gray.
Hear are the goggles I looked through to determine the winner of my vote. Two job applicants for a 4-8 year position are interviewed simultaneously. One applicant does a better job of demonstrating the knowledge and skill sets to get the job done than the other applicant does. One is detailed and seizes the initiative the other is not as detailed and does not seize the initiative.
Obama did not perform as well as McCain. Caveats, spin, and equivalence that all you want. Obama still did not perform as well as McCain.

The 4th estate aka MSM is complaining that they “have been more sidelined in the 2008 campaign than any in generations”. Not that I am an expert in grammar, nor do I play one on TV (actor=genius status), but the opinion sellers certainly could do a “more” better job at word smithing than that quote (article here) indicates.
The problem is that MSM has gotten away from reporting the news, you know that boring stuff that for some reason doesn’t sell newspapers or garner Nielsen ratings anymore. If it bleeds it leads, ambush journalism and Britney’s bits just don’t mix with efforts to reclaim the respect and credibility they have lost. Toss in real competition for the news and the muck from the Internet and let the whining begin in earnest.
Too too bad MSM you’ve gotten what you deserve. No longer the keepers and granters of information, their slip is showing. No longer can Edmund Burke, peer at the Press Gallery of the House of Commons, and say , ‘Yonder sits the Fourth Estate, and they are more important than them all.” Special status requires special actions…
All the news that fits, our agenda. BAH! Both the left and the right complain loudly that MSM is in the tank for their opponent. Balanced BAH! Fox News exists because a segment of the market was underserved, can you say cha-ching? Report the news! If I wanted to know what MSM thought about a subject I’d read the opinion/editorial page or tune into an opinion show not the nightly news.
Can you blame the candidates for shutting your more dumb ass butts out?

Are my eyes deceiving me? Are the reactive thought police actually casually admitting that NY Times doesn’t like conservatives? Couldn’t be!
Newsbusters (linked at Hot Air) states: “the Times does not require “facts” asserted by its advertisers to agree with its own reporting.”
Fantastic. That means that I can call Hillary a Lesbian Whore…which to clarify I don’t believe, but if I had the $160k (I don’t see myself getting the “friends of the Times” discount), then by all means I can print that ad. Or maybe I can do a lame MoveOn McCarthyesque wordplay attack. “The idea that Ms. Clinton would be a capable President is Hillary-ous”.
