It was Obama’s debate to lose, the fix was in and yet he managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The democrat equivalencing and spin began in earnest last night. Funny how affirmative action works. Making something so white and black into a muddy gray.
Hear are the goggles I looked through to determine the winner of my vote. Two job applicants for a 4-8 year position are interviewed simultaneously. One applicant does a better job of demonstrating the knowledge and skill sets to get the job done than the other applicant does. One is detailed and seizes the initiative the other is not as detailed and does not seize the initiative.
Obama did not perform as well as McCain. Caveats, spin, and equivalence that all you want. Obama still did not perform as well as McCain.

Thx WIKI: Astroturfing in American English is a neologism for formal public relations campaigns in politics and advertising which seek to create the impression of being spontaneous “grassroots” behavior, hence the reference to the artificial grass, AstroTurf.
The democrat dream machine caught in the smear zone again? Dream a little false grass roots dream for me…
“Sarah Palin was a member of an Anti-American separatist organization”
The NYT had to retract the claim on the 3rd of September this year. Here’s what FactCheck.org says about the claim as well.
[Sarah Palin] was never a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, a group that wants Alaskans to vote on whether they wish to secede from the United States. She’s been registered as a Republican since May 1982.
Will the MSM attack this like the blood in the water it is? NOT LIKELY… A search using google and yahoo results in much-ado about astroturf the real thing. Ah yes the stumbling herd of the economy that only moments ago no one knew anything about or what to do about it commands the headlines. Makes one wonder why the sudden interest by previously uninterested dems does it not? Oh yes the economy is very important indeed.
The O-ne/Biden sucks harder than McCain/Palin…volkswagens through garden hoses comes to mind.
Update: Moonbats just suck Daily KOS also covering astroturfing tracks! Just how stupid are these people? Nothing goes away on the net, NOTHING…

There’s nothing left for me to say:
Dennis Miller once commented the Kucinich looks like a Muppet washed on hot. Dare I say genius?
I was not going to write anything on this topic because of the risk of sounding like sour grapes or a democrat crying in my self loathing snob-beer. Not to take anything away from the selfless ego stroking that Vice President Gore has shown when championing the cause of global warming but the Nobel Peace Prize?
Why? It certainly isn’t about the “science”.
Follow the money…BILLIONS and BILLIONS of dollars to be made.
Follow the self loathing logic…many chances to put the USA and BUSHITLER in their guilt ridden places.
Follow the hunting of a president…the forces of irrationality will do anything for the power.
Follow the facism and cries of heracy…why is it that this publically funded “scientific” effort does not submit to true peer review of it’s findings? Why can these “scientists” get away with doing so?
Troothers get more respect than people that question the validity of global warming theory…I’ll write that again.

ps…I guess this makes up for the discovering the Internet gaff huh Al? OH AL!

Ive been looking for this thing for a while…
At Wonkette, in “Dead Presidents Who Aren’t“, which covers rumors on the internet, we see this:
Blowhards get to act like they didn’t know the New York Times doesn’t like them. [Hot Air]
Are my eyes deceiving me? Are the reactive thought police actually casually admitting that NY Times doesn’t like conservatives? Couldn’t be!
Newsbusters (linked at Hot Air) states: “the Times does not require “facts” asserted by its advertisers to agree with its own reporting.”
Fantastic. That means that I can call Hillary a Lesbian Whore…which to clarify I don’t believe, but if I had the $160k (I don’t see myself getting the “friends of the Times” discount), then by all means I can print that ad. Or maybe I can do a lame MoveOn McCarthyesque wordplay attack. “The idea that Ms. Clinton would be a capable President is Hillary-ous”.
The leading Democratic talking hole on the radio got into a fight with Kevin Nagle and his fiancee, and allegedly threw a punch at both of them. Here’s the quotes from Say Anything:
To wit:
After the altercation, Schultz talked about it on both his local North Dakota talk radio show and his national show. Apparently Schultz has given out Mr. Nagle’s phone number to his listeners, and Nagle has been receiving hordes of phone calls to the point where it is threatening his ability to serve his clients. At one point Schultz asked Nagle why he and his family weren’t over fighting the war in Iraq, and Nagle responded by pointing out that some of his family was, in fact, in Iraq. Or had been in Iraq. Schultz responded to this by saying that he hates “f***ing right-wing Republicans” and threatening Nagle to the point where the restaurant security began to take notice Nagle responded to Schultz’s threat by saying he and his group were going to leave, at which point either someone from the hotel/bar or one of Schultz’s party (Nagle isn’t clear on this) grabbed his arms and pinned them behind him as Schultz approached with a fist cocked as though he was going to throw a punch. Before Schultz was able to throw a punch, Nagle’s fiancee stepped in and Ed’s fist grazed both her and Nagle. Nagle’s fiancee has bruises from this encounter. At this point things were broken up. Nagle spoke with the bar owner, named Rick, and was told that he and his party were free to stay and that Schultz had left. Nagle is unsure of Ed left because he was asked to or because he simply fled.
Now that the details are out of the way, and I’ve used a deliberately inflammatory heading to wig out the libs who froth and froth and froth…what does this all mean in the big scope of this man Ed’s career? Probably nothing! What seems to make him flip out is the failure of the “chickenhawk” argument that these guys love to use so much. “Why don’t you join?” Well, that’s interesting, but let me pose this retort…if I do join, do you think you could refrain from Schumer-eque comments saying how much I suck? Yeah, that’s a win/win for me. Telling me, “Hey schmuck, why don’t you get your chickenhawk ass to join the army so you’re allowed to comment about the war, at which point I’ll call you stupid, ineffective, and a liar anyways. I win!”
You could say it’s because he’s a rabid leftie, so people don’t really expect civil discourse, so they just shrug it off. You could say it’s because the liberal media won’t cover it. I believe that it’s simply because he’s a little fish in the big pond of conservative dominated talk radio. Oh…and Ed, the proponent of privacy and government intruding blah blah blah…gave the guy’s number out over the air. I’m sure he was the recipient of many well thought, rational, grounded criticisms.
Yes, he’s the top Democratic talker…but how does the joke go:
Q: What’s better than finishing first at the Special Olympics?
A: Not being retarded.
I can finally tell that joke and apply it to the Dems…huzzah says I!

Shamelessly ripped off from Hot Air, who pulled it from Pew, who polled it from the people (catch the wordplay).
I suppose it the perfect response to those who laud the wonders of Venezuela and Chavez is a quote from Ayaan Hirsi Ali:
You grew up in freedom and you can spit on Freedom.
I don’t see it as toooooo ironic that the current polling data shows that the heavily socialized Venezuelan state sees free markets as better. When you live under the foot of a dictator (a real one…not like those reflexive leftists who think Bush is going to find a way to stay into office), you want what the United States has…when you live in the United States, usually guilt, and I think unresolved daddy issues, lead to this feeling that we can’t enjoy, and don’t deserve the freedoms, posterity, and wealth that we’ve been blessed with…which usually waterfalls into one of two fields:
1) We get this freedom and wealth by using the downtrodden of the world (certainly not our minds or our wits).
2) We don’t really have this freedom, the general public has just been brainwashed.
People like Ayaan Hirsi Ali, atheist critic of the faith based terrorism done in the name of Islam, who grew up literally oppressed with little to no rights…need to be marginalized by the left, as her Canadian interviewer Avi Lewis asked her (and to put her response into context):
Is there a school where they teach you these American cliches?
No, she lives “over there”, and now she lives “over here”. She actually has a point of reference, so I’ll trust her on that.
Though I do hate hearing such jejune crap in my native cadence.
I will close with an article I encourage everyone to read from the great science fiction writer (and Democrat…must say that otherwise his writings may be considered out right lies just to make oil profits for the Cheneys) Orson Scott Card, writer of the Enders Game Series, as he tackles the “truth” about Global Warming…a selection below.
If you pay close attention, you’ll find that Global Warming alarmists are not actually saying “Global Warming” lately. No, nowadays it’s “Climate Change.” Do you know why?
Because for the past three years, global temperatures have been falling.
Oops.
Heh…Red Meat.
I received the link from a friend of mine who occasionally posts on this site for the movie “Sicko”…I shouldn’t say link as much as “youtube” style embedded movie. But…in the interest of self preservation, I’ve decided to not post it. Rob at Say Anything seems to struggle with the Moore back track as well. Over the last few weeks we’ve heard:
“I don’t agree with the copyright laws and I don’t have a problem with people downloading the movie and sharing it with people,” said Moore when asked about pirating. “I make these books and movies and TV shows because I want things to change, so the more people that get to see them the better, so I’m happy when that happens. I think information and art, ideas should be shared.”
…for Moore, even piracy has its limits, especially when it comes to the timing, quality and source of the bootleg.
“Every filmmaker intends for his film to be seen on the big screen,” Moore said. “This wasn’t a guy taking a video camera into a theater. This was an inside job, a copy made from a high-quality master and could potentially impact the opening weekend boxoffice. Who do you think benefits from that?”
When asked about accusations that he may have leaked the film himself for publicity purposes, Moore scoffed at the notion:
“Oh no. The (Weinstein) brothers are devastated.”
…
“Every DVD screener that comes from the Weinstein Co. is watermarked and traceable,” Weinstein Co. general counsel Peter Hurwitz said. We are actively investigating those who illegally uploaded ‘Sicko’ to the Internet, and we will take the strongest possible legal action,” Hurwitz said. The company declined comment about whether it will seek legal action against YouTube for allowing the uploads.
…
Hurwitz said that “we at the Weinstein Co. are outraged by illegal piracy. Protecting our product and the creative artists involved is our highest priority.”
…
“I think the music industry’s response to Napster was misguided … and for me, it’s about getting people to see the movie and that’s what I want, so they will talk about it,” Moore recently told Brandweek magazine. “… I would never want to prosecute anybody who would download (his film).”
So now he seems to not necessarily be recanting his previous stance, as much as hiding behind the skirt legs of the studio. The “it’s not me…it’s them” defense is going to be used if we see a big studio push and a lawsuit against those that leaked the film.
Personally, I don’t see rich white man Michael Moore doing anything to stop the studios from steam rolling over those that only practice what Moore preaches…he’ll be able to throw his hands in the air with a faux “Mea Culpa”, and “it’s the studios, not me”, then he’ll go back to his rich gated neighborhood, enjoy the fruit of his capitalist lifestyle, and bitch about the “right”. None of which I would have any problem with if he didn’t complain about other who want to enjoy the same lifestyle Moore has been blessed enough to enjoy. Read the books linked below. I own them and it’s pretty enlightening…
