Power First – We’ll Worry About the Rest Later
Oriana Fallaci RIP 1929-2006
Some of you are asking, who is/was Oriana Fallaci? She was a journalist and author. I did not know of her or of her works until my research activities stumbled upon an obituary of sorts at Jihad Watch The comments that accompany the recognition of her passing paint the picture of a strong and courageous person.
I suggest that her works have pointed out the obvious, unfortunately to our detriment, the obvious has become politically incorrect. Jihad, The Holy War, exists. It is being fought at many levels, actively by Islamic fundamentalists, passively by the mainstream Islamic flock and across the spectrum between these two extremes.
I ask myself (my meds are running low), why is it that the voices screaming for the separation of church and state right down to sub-microscopic levels, the voices shouting in support of Gay marriage/union and a hundred thousand other instances of exercising their “freedoms”, have fallen silent in the face of Jihad? The Holy War that will make voices screaming and shouting be, in religious unison, in abject terror or not at all. The Holy War that will render their “freedoms” mute.
Think not? It has already begun, the suppression of free communication at a global level. Intolerant of us to speak of Islam, Allah and Muhammad in any manner at all is it not? Even when the infidel world speaks of IAM (which for those of you who are into the bible speaks volumes, and guess what? that sort of speaking about IAM will have to stop) in a positive nature we speak blasphemy, because we are infidel. Allah help us if we treat IAM as we treat other infidels. No worries though mate, Allah’s shirk will help us understand the terror of our ways.
Jihad it’s not just for Islam anymore,

If the “Jihad” fits?
“Jihad car commercial upsets U.S. Muslims”
“CINCINNATI (Reuters also known as FAKIRS) – A car commercial proclaiming a jihad on the U.S. auto market and offering “Fatwa Fridays” with free swords for the kids is offensive and should not be aired, Muslim leaders said on Sunday.”
I ask the Muslim leaders once again. When do we get to hear about your outrage at the offensiveness of the killing that is taking place under the guise of your religious beliefs? Until I hear loud and direct condemnation of the killing by the fundamentalist pretenders, the true infidels, I can have no respect for you or the Islamic religion.
Inshallah,

The War in the Media
There’s little to contribute from a professional or analytical point of view with my skill set, especially in light of the numerous websites out there that are pulling more than their own weight and documenting the ongoing media fraud in regard to the facts of the Middle East. Zombie time has the best summary, and HotAir has been covering the recent developments, and some of the recurring characters in this never-ending soap opera.
What gets me is how quickly the people here eat it up as truth. I was listening to the Ron and Fez show on XM radio, and they had one of their fans in studio, and he was commenting on his recent trip to Israel, and his perceptions of the situation there in regard to Hezbollah and Lebanon. He sounded pretty rational and rooted, but the calls as a response were ridiculous. Thinly veiled anti-Israel, pro-Hezbollah statements hidden in a ”What about the children,” mantra. If there’s even a chance that a child is injured, or repositioned in several different pictures to increase the perception of the impact about the loss of civilian life, it doesn’t matter to them. The fact a child could be injured by Israel (as they try to kill those who hide behind women and children), in this unfair war where they target civilians, shows that they are no better than the people that they face. While the hosts did a decent job of moderating, the effort that is made by many in their position to stay neutral offends the intellect. You cannot morally equate Israel and the US to Hezbollah and Al’Qaeda, and refusing to call Hezbollah out as what they are is cowardice.
Why is their this urge by the media, Time Magazine, National Geographic, New York Times, etc to draw comparisons between the two as if they were similar entities at all? Other than the obvious fact that based on motivations alone, the two cannot be compared. Their “soldiers” cannot be compared to ours, and those rare incidents where our soldiers do drop the ball, or violate policy, they are punished. What the international community decries Israel and the US for, is the policy of those who we fight against…and where does the media stand on all of this? In the name of information, they forsake country, morality, honor, and personal ethics (maybe?) to get camera shots of people shooting rockets at American soldiers, or innocent men, women, and children.
Does the AP know that they’re one of the well-trained arms of the Islamic-Fascists? Do they know that they’re the eyes and ears of those who would torture and kill us because we don’t accept their religion? Are they aware that blood is on their hands…or is that something that a Pulitzer can clean, like some sort of disinfectant for the soul…
Cease Fire…Where…When?
CNN and Fox News are reporting that 10 rockets have been fired inside Southern Lebanon after the ceasefire:
Highlighting the fragility of the peace, Hezbollah guerrillas fired at least 10 Katyusha rockets that landed in southern Lebanon early Tuesday, the Israeli army said, adding that nobody was injured. The army said that none of the rockets, which were fired over a two-hour period, had crossed the border and so it had not responded.
It’s not like their aim has been that good anyways, considering Katyusha rockets have no guidance system …but it’s the thought that counts…
Hot Air Covers the misleading headlines…what would a story be by the MSM without the slant.
If You Can’t Get the World on Your Side…
Hassan Nasrallah: “I want to say to our Lebanese people, the peoples of our nation, and the world, and to be very clear: What has happened since the first day of this war, and is still happening, even today – the killing, massacres, destruction, brutality, and barbarism – the ones responsible for all this are, first and foremost, Bush and his American administration. In our opinion, [Israeli Prime Minister Ehud] Olmert and his government are no more than tools in this war.
“I’d like to stress this by saying that the blood of the women and children in Qana and the blood of all the elderly and the innocent civilians that has been spilled in Lebanon stains the faces of Bush, Condoleezza Rice, Rumsfeld, and Cheney. This is the murderous, criminal, aggressive, and blood-shedding administration which continues to prevent the cessation of the aggression, by making conditions and trying to dictate them.”
Hezbollah isn’t stupid. If they can’t get the world on their side by blaming Israel, then blame America. Shoot, you can probably even get half of America on your side…the DNC already blames the current administration for the war.
“If you think what’s going on in the Middle East today would be going on if the Democrats were in control, it wouldn’t, because we would have worked day after day after day to make sure we didn’t get where we are today,” said Howard Dean, chairman of the Democratic National Committee. “We would have had the moral authority that Bill Clinton had when he brought together the Northern Irish and the IRA, when he brought together the Israelis and the Palestinians.”
How about the moral authority Bill Clinton had when North Korea agreed to not pursue nuclear weapons(more here)…but I’ve learned from multiple Democrats now, that Bill Clinton cannot be held accountable for anything that he did during his presidency.
It’s not the first time that those in the middle east have taken their talking points from the spokesholes of the Left.
I have to link to a great article that I read by Dennis Prager, that addresses the shortcomings of the green party in regards to pacifism.

Major Mike – “Termites in the House of Cards”
Listening to the musings of Hugh Hewitt on the prolonged drive home today, and he read an excerpt from Major Mike from My Sandmen that I think is worth reading…here’s a preview, click through for the full link.
It has occurred to me over the past couple of weeks, with the Middle East and Afghanistan in turmoil, because of the likes of Al Qaeda, the Taliban, Iraqi Insurgents, Hamas and Hezbollah; that we now live in a world where governments, borders, diplomatic protocols, and indeed, civilizations are on the brink of becoming extinct and obsolete.
These groups, some quasi-governmental entities, (Taliban, Hamas, Hezbollah), others simply terror organizations (AQ, and the AQ led Iraqi insurgents) are on the verge of collapsing the existing, and long recognized, international conventions of government, and governmental interactions. Operating outside the frameworks of established political systems, these groups are capable of destroying the very essence of our existing, global, civilization. [MORE]

Some Civilians Aren’t Allowed to Leave Lebanon?
Heidi at Euphoric Reality has a post today addressing the fact that civilians in Lebanon are being killed when they try to leave (from linked NY Times article through ER):
… Mr. Amar said Hezbollah fighters in groups of two and three had come into Ain Ebel, less than a mile from Bint Jbail, where most of the fighting has occurred. They were using it as a base to shoot rockets, he said, and the Israelis fired back.
One woman, who would not give her name because she had a government job and feared retribution, said Hezbollah fighters had killed a man who was trying to leave Bint Jbail.
“This is what’s happening, but no one wants to say it” for fear of Hezbollah, she said.
Anyone who feels that there isn’t a propaganda war on the underbelly of this conflict isn’t paying attention. As much of an effort as Israel is making to spare innocent lives, it actually behooves the Hezbollah fighters to have civilians in their area killed. Nothing shakes up the beehive more than dead women and children at the filthy hand of the Jews right? The goal of this conflict is not to simply attack the state of Israel, but to garner support for such an attack from the surrounding Arab countries, to the point of forcing participation.
Volokh Conspiracy covers the events that took place in Wadi Chahrour in depth at their website, and as usual on the website, sources the facts heavily.

Another link from Powerline Blog in reference to the above photo, which was unfurled 3 hours after the bombing in Qana. Their economy must be bustling, because, as John questions, how long does it take to print, and who paid for a 30 foot banner professionally that has been obviously photoshopped. (Help me here Josh). There’s got to be some sort of propaganda bank account, and war chest with various images and prints of possible people who might be visiting the east just ready to print and drive to the location. Not only that, but the printing shops, or storage areas have to be near areas that they know will have such conflict. Hezbollah is a well oiled machine of commerce…when it comes to posting hate pictures that is.
