Grass is Always Greener

Shamelessly ripped off from Hot Air, who pulled it from Pew, who polled it from the people (catch the wordplay).

I suppose it the perfect response to those who laud the wonders of Venezuela and Chavez is a quote from Ayaan Hirsi Ali:

You grew up in freedom and you can spit on Freedom.

I don’t see it as toooooo ironic that the current polling data shows that the heavily socialized Venezuelan state sees free markets as better. When you live under the foot of a dictator (a real one…not like those reflexive leftists who think Bush is going to find a way to stay into office), you want what the United States has…when you live in the United States, usually guilt, and I think unresolved daddy issues, lead to this feeling that we can’t enjoy, and don’t deserve the freedoms, posterity, and wealth that we’ve been blessed with…which usually waterfalls into one of two fields:

1) We get this freedom and wealth by using the downtrodden of the world (certainly not our minds or our wits).

2) We don’t really have this freedom, the general public has just been brainwashed.

People like Ayaan Hirsi Ali, atheist critic of the faith based terrorism done in the name of Islam, who grew up literally oppressed with little to no rights…need to be marginalized by the left, as her Canadian interviewer Avi Lewis asked her (and to put her response into context):

Is there a school where they teach you these American cliches?

No, she lives “over there”, and now she lives “over here”. She actually has a point of reference, so I’ll trust her on that.

Though I do hate hearing such jejune crap in my native cadence.

I will close with an article I encourage everyone to read from the great science fiction writer (and Democrat…must say that otherwise his writings may be considered out right lies just to make oil profits for the Cheneys) Orson Scott Card, writer of the Enders Game Series, as he tackles the “truth” about Global Warming…a selection below.

If you pay close attention, you’ll find that Global Warming alarmists are not actually saying “Global Warming” lately. No, nowadays it’s “Climate Change.” Do you know why?

Because for the past three years, global temperatures have been falling.

Oops.

Heh…Red Meat.

I’m only going to comment on a couple of things.

“We get this freedom and wealth by using the downtrodden of the world (certainly not our minds or our wits).”

    Why can’t it be both?

We get this freedom and wealth by using the downtrodden of the world and by using our minds or our wits.

I guess if you don’t count the near genecide of Native Americans and the slavery in the south you would be right.
I guess maybe you can still use that statement.

    And The climate change issue.
I can look at all that information you posted and per my lack of a degree in science say “OK. Its the sun and there is nothing we can do.” Thats ok with me.

The sky is STILL brown! Supporting companies that purchase oil from countries like Saudi Arabia and Venezuela STILL isn’t something you want to do. (if you had the choice) Or maybe you would like to support dictators and I ‘m not being sarcastic. I have no idea what you think is a good idea and the things you say surprise me all the time.

In any case.. I would prefer domestic renewable sources of energy that do little to no pollution to the water, earth, and air.
I would like to hope people would not want smog or want to support dictators, but again I could be wrong.

    P.S.
I pretty much hate everything you stand for. :) Maybe I’ll see you at comic-con

Good to see you at the con…your woman seems really cool.

I agree…we shouldn’t depend on oil from dictators, which is why we should drill our own here, or develop better alternative fuels. All of which I think will happen in time as the market dictates.

As you said on the Native American and slavery…certainly not the high points in American history, but what’s great about this country is the we (for the most part) try to learn from those mistakes and not repeat them. Every country in the world has their sordid histories, and skeletons in their closets…

I have only seen Ayaan Hirsi Ali once on Bill Maher and I thought she was pretty cool. She said if we come up with renewed energy, all of these crazy countries have nothing. No one would care if they wanted to kill each other if we don’t need what’s underneath them. And, if no one wants what’s underneath them, there wouldn’t be such an urgency to kill each other anyway.

See, Hugo Chavez was elected democratically. His voting machines were touch screen, and they printed out the vote count, as the voters got a copy. These machines were purchased, ironically, from America. So, when Bush said he cheated – he said – COUNT ‘EM.

It doesn’t take away from the fact that he does run a dictator regime in my eyes. Right now, he is playing “Robin Hood” to the desperately poor Latin American countries. But when he runs the “hate America they are imperialist” game, what does he think he’s subtly doing? Sure, right now he is “helping,” but in the end, the Latin American countries will be back at square one – just watch. All he is doing it setting it up to take over America’s role – by replacing himself to hold the keys to the indentured servitude door to Latin America.

We use our money and technology; we can rip the rug out from under this. We can use our own oil until it happens, and if we start now, it will scare us into racing to beat the clock to complete it. Who knows if global warming is our fault? Who cares, if we pretend it is, we have all the tree huggers ready to drop oil and use our stuff. Biodeisel is already big time and being used. Watch this REALLY AWESOME documentary “Freedom Fuel.” The farm subsidies can be reverted to pay going organic. I am hardly an environmentalist, but the bottom line is – even fertilizers are made from oil. That really humongous chicken breast looks delic on the grill – but where did that bad boy come from? Steroids. I live in the Midwest – we got this. Once you get out of Chicago, its all corn and soy bean fields. We are all fast foods junkies; we take their dirty oil and renew it into cleaner energy. We go solar, during the day, nuclear at night. The possibilities are not only endless, but already being implemented.

Who would Chavez be without oil????? Nobody…
