I love the music posts lately Stout however, I am starting to miss topics regarding the latest on American national and foreign policy. We republicans need to get back to debating the left. There are so many new topics to discuss!
I love accoustic guitar music. Did you make the vid? Good job, either way.
But. I see your ’support Fred’ donation image in the sidebar. Is it really time to do this? The RNC got nothing from me for the last two years (a trend I planned to continue). I like Duncan Hunter the best, and Fred Thompson second, though it’s pretty obvious only Fred has a chance to win. But if we start giving them money, what will teach them to actually act like a conservative, unlike what they’ve been doing for over a year?
I’m torn, and interested in a Stout Republican’s opinion.

I support Thompson right now…but that doesn’t mean that i won’t support another Republican were he to win, but as far as primaries go, He’s got the recognition, and the gusto I think to do it.
But money, Stout. Do you really think it’s time to be supporting them with money? I’m on the fence, but ‘the fence’ is between ’supporting Republicans’ and ‘taking a nap’ on election day.
I dislike Democratic ideals as much as the next conservative. But lately, I’m finding I dislike Republican bills/laws equally as much! If we give them money now, are we supporting more of the same?
That’s not a rhetorical question. I don’t know the answer to ‘how can we get the Republican party to be conservative again?’ But I want to. Is giving money to Fred a good idea? His voting record shows him to be just about as liberal as Bush. He’s still my solid second-favorite, but… how low are we setting the bar here?
Don’t get me wrong. I’m devoutly conservative and libertarian. Mostly conservative. But the Prez and congress are making me wonder if I’m actually Republican. It’s like they don’t speak for us anymore. Yes, Fred does! But is he just kidding us, like Bush did?
I dunno. If you think it’s time to support Fred, I’ll send him 50 bucks, but no more. The proof is in the pudding, and so far, I’ve recieved no pudding.
I put my reasons in this post as a response to your comments, tell me if you agree with the logic.
I like you’re reasoning, and would celebrate a Fred (or Duncan in my case) win. There might also be a plus in donating only to Fred. It will send a message that we are sick of ’same old same old’.
Ok, you’ve convinced me. I’ll double my offer. And when the inevitable RNC snailmail spam arrives, I’ll do just like you mentioned. Return them empty. Or maybe put a ‘you-owe-me’ slip in it :)
