Fox Syndrome

November 2nd, 2006

Not Fox News you nutty liberal kooks…Michael J….

The Rush/Fox debate is one of the most innane “circle jerks” (to quote GoingThere) I’ve heard about lately…and it’s one where I’m not going to say Fox is right, or Rush is right, because I don’t care about that aspect…it’s petty, and frankly you can’t criticize Fox because he has a disease, so in classic Sheehan style, if you attack his view, you attack him personally.

My stance on this issue is where it always has been. Who cares about the “Morality” of the issue…it shouldn’t enter into it. In California we were going to state sponsor stem cell research…why? Capitalism dictates that if it’s a good idea, and there’s an avenue that involves Commercial investment, business will get involved. Why is this something that the public sector is dabbling in? Why is the government going to use our tax dollars to research something that if there real legitimate opportunity (and there may be) for medical advancement, should be left to the private sector? It’s not the government’s job to advance and fund such things…it the medical communities job, and if there’s money to be made (as long as Democrats still allow companies to make money) they’ll be there…trust me.

We distort the issues with anecdotal stories and misleading ads. In Fox’s case, if the proposition in question involves cloning, inform the people exactly what it is, don’t pull on the heartstrings to get your way. And while Fox admits he didn’t read the bill he was promoting, I do admire him stepping forward on this issue, it’s his right…but step forward, and it gives others free license to smack you around a bit…though the smacking might take extra effort, Fox is pretty good at the “Bob and Weave”…(*groan*)

Holy Crap…did that come out of my mouth. Where’s a puppy I can kick?

“It’s not the government’s job”, eh? So you’re saying it’d be unAmerican for the country to fund a potential medical breakthrough?

This stem cell potential isn’t cancer, but it’s surprisingly not very far off, and would much improve our current reputation in the eyes of the world and many Americans. But if you’re not keen on the idea of America having the most noble of intentions and, at the same time, using the fact that nothing good ever came without risk, against these supporters of stem cells, then that’s your right as an American.

Go ahead, torture the Marty McFly’s, the Richard Pryor’s and the grandparents of the world!

Don’t worry, I’m sure they’ll let you benefit, despite yourself, from the outcome their research may bring forth.

It can be Dexie’s turn when you need to pick on a girl instead of a tard…

Its not the governments place to invest taxpayers dollars in medical research. The big pharmaceutical and medical research firms already get major subsidies from the fed. What kind of return do the taxpayers get on their investment? High priced medical care to cover the cost of the already subsidized research. The government and the people are not payed back when the companies marketing the medicines and cures make their big profit. Let private enterprise foot the bill for research. Just say no to big government.

Ah Frank, your perfect grammar, newness and respect keep me from saying anything in response except Well Said.

If you linger though, perhaps we’ll become friends and eventually bash eachother with our opposing propaganda.

We should be proud of how our personal, drug and medical, dollars are being used around the world. We pay WAY more than most people in other countries for the same prescription or procedure developed privately and publically here in the USA. Without our contribution providing access to drugs and medical care MANY people would be dying. Closet socialism meets capitalism, you got to love it.

Hey we do our part… Again as always,

    USA NUMBER ONE!!!

If the truth about the stem cell debate was ever heard by the masses it would exist as it should, as an avenue of research with minor potential. Throw in the word fetal and all sorts of moonbats start spinning outright lies and supporting irrational agendas.

Glad we can debate it though,

AGAIN AS ALWAYS, USA NUMBER ONE!!!

One thing I didn’t hear very much was that Fox admitted in his memoirs to intentionally NOT taking his meds before speaking before a branch of government about stem cell research. He wanted to make his appearance more “dramatic.” To me, Rush’s accusation wasn’t so hateful after I knew that…

    Oh, and right on Frank!
