Then again, such methods could just be how one justifies the bad in his own religion by pointing out what he was raised to believe as worse.

But they were raised in an environment where this (”radical” by our eyes) behavior comes to be expected due to the longest curse word in english: Tradition. Just like you were in yours and I was in mine.

Certain African cultures believe in female circumcision? You’re okay with that? Some culture still practice slavery…I suppose if it’s tradition it’s okay? ..it may not be support, but it’s certainly justification. But I suppose we would get an indignant response out of the bigoted likes of you unless the person perhaps had a cross around their neck…then I’m sure the clever quips and one liners would fly.

Yes the word tradition, such a horrible word for all. But wait, the way the muslims sound in these articles, it would seem like they are quite similar to frat boys. Gay bashing and women invite rape. Yeah these views that these particular muslims hold, for those that actually do hold them, make them sound just like immature egomaniacal frat boys, with about the same intelligence.
But wait, these are muslims, it’s a religious belief. Sure it is, but without religion these people would be condemned by most countries. Traditions change, that’s why there is no longer a spanish inquisition, catholics grew up (at least for the most part, now they just need to get past that whole god belief), why can’t these particular muslims grow up to.

I am not stereotyping all muslims, just the ones that would agree women invite rape and killing gays is ok. But then there are some christians who believe gays should not live either, but it’s not a law in any christian based country that i know.

Let’s just all believe in his noodly appendage and become members of the church of the flying spagetti monster, no murder or hate in that religion.

Oh Stout, I feel petty in pointing your nose in your own bull, but in no way was I “defending those muslims by calling it tradition” if I called “Tradition” what I called it.

Try to read context AND words, not just words OR context, and maybe then we’ll have a progressive discussion rather than a meandering one.

Unfortunately, the war against Islam (you know, the religion of tolerance) has been going on since Muhammad walked the earth, and it will continue for many more years to come. You see, there IS right and wrong, black and white in this world. Our relativistic society doesn’t like that idea, because “what is good for you is fine, as long as it doesn’t interfere with what I want to do”. So when a woman is raped, and convicted of wrong-doing because the four “witnesses” of the act saw nothing wrong, is that justice? “Tradition” as one person put it isn’t the issue here…the issue is the doctorine. Before getting hot and heavy defending Islam, how about reading its by-laws and doctorine. Should you have a daughter, would you want her to be part of this ‘peaceful’ group? As I see it, relativism is only appealing when you are considering the lovely ideas…not the truth.
