Nothing Really That New

September 26th, 2006

Another leak, another day. National security really takes a back seat to partisan politics, especially when it’s a war situation…why pay attention to lives, when you can leak memos to the DNC…uh…I mean the press.

The Declassified NIE document entitled “Declassified Key Judgments of the Intelligence Estimate ‘Trends in Global Terrorism: Implications for the United States’ dated April 2006″…whew…is more of a fizzle instead of a bang.

Since it seems that the government copy is impossible to get at right now because the web site is slammed, get it through HotAir.com…but don’t expect anything too new. The memo itself is outdated, with reference to the now deceased al-Zarqawi, and offers little new information.

It seems that the claim that Iraq is leading to more violence, which based on the original leak this weekend, is unfounded. The memo makes the very clear point that any act of the United States that shows weakness (like perhaps cutting and running from Iraq) would lead to more violence on behalf of the terrorists.

If democratic reform efforts in Muslim majority nations progress over the next five years, political participation probably would drive a wedge between intransigent extremists and groups willing to use the political process to achieve their local objectives.

Although the document makes clear that destabilizing transitions will created situations that jihadists will exploit…and exploit violently, the point is made:

…the Muslim mainstream emerges as the most powerful weapon in the war on terror.

We need to use this “weapon” swiftly and definitively…we can’t continue to coddle those who walk the line, and are unwilling to condemn acts of murder and violence.

Should jihadists leaving Iraq perceive themselves, and be perceived, to have failed, we judge fewer fighters will be inspired to carry on the fight.

Sounds like a “stay and fight” document to me. I know the Democrats are going to be enraged about it, claim the info is wrong, or that the original memo was changed, but what else is new. If they didn’t have Republicans to complain about, then what would their party platform be?

The New Socialist/Democratic Party, should have a new slogan:”Bring The Troops Home and We Can Hide Under The Bed Until All Those Angery Muslims Promise Not to Hate Us.”

In the Movie:To Kill A Mocking Bird- Atticus Finch was called home by his house keeper because she reported a rabid dog comimg down the street and she feared for the safety of the children she was taking care of. When Atticus arrived with the police, he took up a rifle. I will never understand why Atticus didn’t try to make friends with that dog, why didn’t he try to offer it some of it favorite food or read it some bed time story? The reason is that you can not reason with a sick animal, and that is the same reason we can worry about the geniva conventions, sick animal terrorist who will start killing all the gays first, then they will kill all the movie stars, then all musical stars, and then they will start in on the femanist. You libs better get a grip and face the truth that you do not reason with sick muslim animals. You just kill them, that’s all.
