California Dem Candidate a Loser
So says Jon Fleischman today on Flashreport:
Watching Phil Angelides campaign since the primary has actually been pretty painful. Never once has he decided to approach campaigning to the California electorate with a comprehensive and consistent message. Since winning the Democratic primary, Angelides has failed to introduce himself to general election voters or talk positively about his public policy visions for California. Instead, his campaign was silent for too long, and then began a series of random “Hail Mary” passes that have all been reactive. Phil Angelides’ candidacy has been defined not by Angelides himself, but rather by his opponent, Arnold Schwarzenegger. The Governor and his campaign team have successfully painted Angelides as an awkward politician, whose only original thoughts are of how to raising the taxes of every man, woman and child in California.
Even if you view the comments section of this post by Fleischman, you’ll see that the one dem (currently) who had anything to say, still tried to link Arnold and Bush. I’m still shocked at the vitriol of the left, and even more that their PR wing thinks the appropriate way to campaign against a Governor, is to campaign against the President.
Arnold has done a bang up job of offering positives, compromised, policy, and reform. It comes with a price tag, which I am aware of, but there’s a lot of fixing that needs to take place in California, and fixing isn’t free. Angelides has offered us higher taxes already, but has offered no real comprehensive positive plan except for trying to demonize the right…and Arnold (not being the model right candidate as far as hard-line issues) is the wrong person to demonize. I smell a backfire, and a blowout…he’s even surrounding himself with winners, winners like John Kerry (ahem). He’s also showing us his care for state and local issues, by attending various rallies against the war…maybe he’s just thinking big.
Counting down until Angelides campaign panics, and does something blatantly stupid and illegal in an attempt to smear their adversaries.
