Air America BK?

September 13th, 2006

It’s been a long time coming if the rumor is true…Air America is going Bankrupt. Brian Maloney is reporting that Air America leaked the news to the left wing Think Progress…

Free market man. Some things succeed, some things fail, and if you can’t make money at it, then you’re a failure. I don’t know if this goes to show that the left sucks with money, or that right wingers just know how to run a business better…either way, the left (who touts that they are a majority) apparently is to busy listening to top forty format to follow the current events that those of us on the right hear on our news talk every day. If you can’t get people to listen…fiscal collapse…free market here…revenue required.

As Michelle Malkin says:

You know, if Brian Maloney were a liberal blogger who had single-handedly blown the whistle on the financial shenanigans of a conservative radio conglomerate, he would be the toast of the media establishment. He’d be invited on all the prime-time talk shows. He’d be a “Person of the Week” on the nightly news. He’d get a profile in People magazine. But he won’t get any of that.

If you think such a statement is wrong…then you’re probably living in a self insulated media bubble where your opinions are collected from the table scraps of Keith Olbermann. Just look at the history of it all…any left wing whistle blower instantly becomes media darling…instead, you’re probably going to hear about how Air America went where no radio station had gone before, and was successful, valiant, and ahead of their time. “Go Team!” as they like to say in the CNN news room during elections that are won by liberal democrats.

Answer to your question Michelle…the New York Times will cover it only after the Journal and the Post do so, and they see that people aren’t interested in just left slanted stories…but maybe…I don’t know…news. If I’m going to read an editorial, I want to see it have “Editorial” written above it…not “AP”.

Honestly Stout, I don’t know the reason for this irony, but your own words have said that you yourself listened to Air America, and me, being just another liberal, never listened to it once. Nor has any liberal that I know.

However, I and many lefties I know listen to your right wing news talk (sic) on a routine basis. I suppose it’d be wrong of me to assume that who I know speaks for a majority in this nation, but maybe you can show me the fallacy in that logic.

Then you have made the point yourself. Air America failed as a business to target and retain their audience (the left). I listened on a handful of occassions (as Al Frankin can be funny), but it wasn’t good as a radio station, politics aside. As far as the left touting they are a majority…it’s simply what I hear from the Democratic leaders…they say that most people agree with them. Is that a false concusion? Or did I miss when the Democratic leadership said that most people disagree with them.
