Denial…Now Available Worldwide

August 24th, 2006

The “desire to side with people who claim they are oppressed…” pretty much sums it up.  I don’t know if it’s the fact that we as Americans are so blessed that it makes us get into this “root for the underdog, self hate mentality”, but it’s really led to some bad societal decisions on our part.

Laura Ingraham has an interview with Melanie Phillips, the author of Londonistan.  What is it about British people and their speaking patterns that make them sound so much more educated than us? Maybe it’s the lack of the word “dude”…

I remember hearing this interview on Laura’s show when it was first aired, and thinking it was something that needed to be heard, and thanks to the influence of “Hot Air” you can click through to the audio.  It’s fantastic to hear Melanie just politely smash the caller who would equate an abortion clinic bomber with a Islamic Fascist, the two just don’t equate…not only that, but why would you try to justify the actions of those by referencing the actions of those that you criticize?  That makes no rational sense from an argumentative point of view, morality aside.

Terrorism is not America’s fault, and as Melanie says, wars are being fought all over the world as Islamic Fascists try to violently force their views on the cultures and countries around, and they have nothing to do with America.  It sucks to be the scapegoat of the ENTIRE FREAKIN WORLD.

“We have to start to address the ideas that are driving these people to terrible acts.”  Amen!

I still hold to the naive belief that any country that doesn’t have restrictions on the style of music released in their borders is a country that has come a long way…if rock music has to truly be bought and sold in the black market, then your country has problems.

On a bright note…I fixed my computer late last night, and after a lecture from my roommate about how all heartache could have been avoided by a Mac purchase over a year ago, I was able to restore my functionality…oh sweet heroin…straight to my veins through the keyboard.  Addiction once again prevails.
